I have a strong obsession to represent “body” at the centre of my canvas as if viewer cannot overlook its strong presence. The “body”, be it animal, human or imaginary, is often represented without having any “natural”/causal connection to its surrounding elements. This sheer discontinuity increases the prominence of the contour of the body- its materiality.
It seems that every-body is alone, colossal, detached, alienated in the postmodern world. No matter if the painting is “mythological” or “surreal” in content; there is always a common indication towards violence, obsessive sexual desire, and mutilation of the “corporeal body”. Beneath the orderly structured canvas-spaces there vibrates a subversive sensation of my “morbid-mind ness”. There is strong opposition between my carefulness in applying techniques, arranging the setting of painting with my own obsessive intention for undoing structures. Although am struggling consciously to strengthen my composition, to establish coherence between forms in painting but unfortunately at the end of the process, because of my over determination, forms lose their integrity and the “body” becomes detached, alienated, unguarded. It is my secret anxiety, irritability that remains latently active throughout the period of the making of painting.
